I was just wondering, if everything at the end are just strings, made of the same matter but vibrating on different frequencies, would things be the same ? the first atomists (some Greek geeks) thought of the same thing and didn’t (afaik) came with an accurate answer.

Many tried turn copper (or anything else!) into gold using alchemy (ancient misty-science) but failed miserably (for the sake of mankind!). Later, we learned how really turn stuff into other stuff (whatever they are) with particle physics (and those lovely accelerators) but still for the sake of mankind, people seems to dislike creating golden things out of recyclable stuff.

Now, things are going to the already famous string theory, which implies that everything, including gravity (which was not on quantum theory) is in fact the same little thing, a n-brane. Wow, would we be able to create gravitons out of a rock and use it to produce a gravitational lens as reading glasses ? Would relief me from using my plastic ones, at least…

Years ago people wondered if it was really possible to find the real answer of the life, the universe and everything (in fact, the question for the answer) but now that we may probably have it in our hands (and still be too dumb to not see it) I can start making other questions… what if we could really act upon those rules ?

What would be the medical use for that ? What would be the new discovers ? New challenges ? And specially the new weapons some even more dumb people will eventually find out a way to produce ?

Not going is not an option! I mean, if you don’t find out today, some one will do it tomorrow… And also if you do it today you can lead the research for some specific point you want to focus, like finding all the good stuff about it.

I think a whole lot of new sci-fi authors are about to come just when the new string theory laws start coming out… writers tend to be far more creative than scientists for inventing gadgets… ;)
