Experience

* Head of Information Technology

Camfed

September 2007 – Present

During these ten months with Camfed, I could successfully steered Camfed through many of the IT challenges facing a rapidly expanding charity with offices in the UK, US and Africa.
I inherited a decentralised IT management service support structure that was dispersed across our international offices. My first priority was to consolidate and improve this service using a centralised infrastructure management model, which focused on improving manageability, reducing complexity, and consolidating servers and computers worldwide and thus reducing administrative overheads.
Now we have consistent software configurations across our offices, we also benefit from a much less complex IT management system, which means our staff enjoy a much more predictable and reliable service. Having a consistent desktop configuration is one of the biggest operational improvements gained from the transformation to a centralised management system.
